Lesson 2 blurred up + twisted background.
A tiny bit more advanced... Make a fancy desktop background for free!
1. Open GIMP.
2.Select File/New....
3.Make a new file 555X555 pixels.
4.Go to Filter/Render/Clouds/Plasma...
5.Set the Turbulence to 3 and tick the randomise box.
6.Press OK.
7.In the layer panel duplicate the layer (The funny two blue boxes button).
8.Select the lower layer (probably called background)
9.Go to Filters/Distorts/Whirl and Pinch...
10.Set the first slider to 150.
11.Select the 'upper layer' (probably called Background copy.)
12.Repeat step 8 but don't OK.
13.Set the top slider to -150.
14. Now press OK.
15.Set the top layer's opacity to around 35 using the tiny slider in the layers box.
16. Save the file as a .jpeg (more on extensions (L4) to use this as a background image.
